It’s a Go-Green Grant for Genesee Community College.
GCC has received nearly 500-thousand dollars from New York State Energy Research and Development to replace incandescent and fluorescent lighting on campus with all-new LED lights. The LED’s are more energy efficient and last longer.
Hamilton expects the college to save $48,000 a year in electricity costs.
College President Stuart Steiner says it’s the first grant of this type the college has ever received.
