If you thought it was record breakingly warm yesterday, you were right.
The thermometer reached 68 degrees at the Greater Rochester International Airport Wednesday afternoon, breaking the record of 66 degrees for March 7th set way back in 1876.
There are no high and low temperature statistics kept just for Batavia.
We are stating out mild today but cooler temperatures move in later today and tomorrow.
A woman was injured when she drove her car into Dunkin Donuts on West Main St. It happened yesterday afternoon.
Batavia Fire Chief Jim Maxwell tells us what happened:
"She was pulling into the parking space and hit the gas instead of the brake, jumped the curb and hit the wall."
The unidentified driver was taken to UMMC with a minor head injury.
No one inside the restaurant was hurt.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta plans to visit the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.
This comes on the heels of an announcement that hundreds of jobs at the base could be eliminated by the federal government. Some 845 jobs at the Falls’ base are in the cross-hairs and could be cut.
Congresswoman Kathy Hochul said Panetta would make the trip, "as soon as he’s able to."
A new poll brings good news for U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. The Siena Research poll finds that 58-percent of those surveyed are prepared to re-elect the junior senator from New York in the upcoming November election. That's up five points from a similar poll in December.
