One person, an elderly female driver, was injured Wednesday afternoon when her car slammed into the side of Batavia's Dunkin' Donuts restaurant.

The 89-year-old suffered a minor cut to her forehead after the low-speed impact. A passenger, her husband, was uninjured in the wreck.

"She was pulling into the parking spot, from what we gather – hit the gas instead of the brakes, jumped the curb, and hit the wall," said Batavia City Fire Chief Jim Maxwell. "The wall did what it was supposed to do and stopped the vehicle."

Several patrons and workers were inside the restaurant at the time of impact, but none were hurt. Restaurant employees declined to speak with WBTA News.

The driver was hospitalized.
