The contract dispute between Genesee County and its largest public employee union goes on.
The 315-member local unit of the CSEA has been working without a contract for two years.
Last night, the county legislature voted unanimously to impose the terms of the last contract on the year 2009 – essentially a wage freeze on the union.

The union maintains they are ready to negotiate but says the two tier wage system is, "a major sticking point" one that the union says, the county did not seek from other unions.
The Genesee County Grand Jury has handed up an indictment against Jessica Culver, formerly Jessica Langmaid, charging her with Grand Larceny. The indictment states that Jessica stole property worth more than 3-thousand dollars, from the Tonawanda Valley Federal Credit Union between October of 2008 and March of 2009.
A new superintendent of schools has been named for the Elba Central School District.
The Elba School Board has named Secondary Principal Jerome Piwko to replace Joan Cole who is retiring at the end of the summer.
Piwko came to Elba two years ago from Albion Central where he was an assistant principal.
