Teeth theft and Pawning
30-year-old Jason Ray Anderson of Elba has been charged…for shoplifting several packages of teeth whitening strips, and then pawning them off.
Deputies say Anderson took the packages of Crest Whitening Strips from the Rite Aid Pharmacy on West Main St, over the course of two days
Anderson then allegedly took whitening strips, and sold them at Pawn King.
High Speed Chase
Livingston Sheriff’s Department reports a high-speed chase early Thursday morning that wended its way through Dansville and Mount Morris.
The driver, 29-year-old Brock Hyde of Sparta, allegedly led police on a chase over one-hundred miles per hour.
What police didn’t know, is that Hyde was driving his girlfriend’s car. And that’s where it gets interesting. During the chase, police say Brock Hyde called his girlfriend, Monica Sims – and asked her to call 9-1-1 and report the car stolen!
The plan was for Hyde to elude police in the chase – and then later claim it wasn’t him driving the car, it was stolen!
Well, the plan didn’t work out very well. Hyde was caught. He’s charged with Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Arrest, and more. He’s jailed.
And his girlfriend? She’s charged too. Both are due in court at a later date.
Heart and Health
Good news for cardiac patients in Batavia.
You may know that United Memorial Medical Center made moves to close its Cardiac Rehab center by this March.
But now, the hospital will have a new rehab center, still on the UMMC campus. The hospital is taking over the practice of Doctors Keun Oh, and Mohammad Rathor. Keun Oh is retiring, and UMMC will be able operate his rehab office at a cheaper cost than was possible before.
Also, the YMCA will partner with the hospital to offer extended-period, outpatient cardiac rehab, also beginning in March.
A Stafford man is facing misdemeanor charges for Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, after police in LeRoy say he grabbed a child less than 17-years-old.
28-year-old Thomas Hutton of Clipnock Road is charged in the incident last fall. Police say on one occasion, he grabbed the young person’s intimate area. On another occasion, police say he tried to bribe a child with cigarettes, in exchange for sexual contact.
Hutton is awaiting his court date.
