More charges in a disturbing child sex abuse case from Bergen.
45-year-old Stephen Stone, already under arrest for suspected sex crimes against one young victim, is now facing additional charges for alleged crimes against children 11 and 14 years old.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Jerome Brewster says the newly-named victims are county residents.
Stone’s alleged crimes against them include sexual contact beginning in March of last year and lasting into the summer.
Stone was first arrested last week on Rape charges against a victim, whom investigators say he abused for years.
Stone remains behind bars, in lieu of 100-thousand dollars bail.
Two Lockport men are under arrest for allegedly stealing 11 TV sets from cabins at Darien Lake.
26-year-old Robert Hughes and 23-year-old Ryan Kaufman, both of Lockport, have been charged with 11 counts of burglary.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies say the pair entered the theme park’s cabins during the off season and took the HDTVs.
Hughes and Kaufman were arraigned on the charges and then released on their own recognizance.
The Batavia City Council has given the go ahead to the fire department to find a manufacturers demo truck to replace a 22-year-old fire engine.
Soliciting proposals for a demo unit was the recommendation of Batavia Fire Chief Jim Maxwell.
Waiting for a new truck to be built could take up to a year.
The chief estimates a demo truck would sell for 10 to 20 percent less than a new fire engine, which could run close to a half-million dollars. Delivery could be less than 60 days.
Batavia is currently borrowing a pumper truck from the City of Rochester.
