Batavia City School superintendent Margaret Puzio will retire next year.
The announcement, made at a City School Board meeting last night, puts a definitive cap on Puzio’s three-and-a-half year career as district Superintendent.
With the retirement in mind, the school board has named Batavia High School principal Christopher Dailey as the deputy superintendent, guaranteeing that Dailey will take over district leadership in 2012.
Dailey has been the principal for three years at Batavia High. He’s also served as a teacher, varsity coach and departmental chair during his career.
