The Batavia City Republican Committee has made its recommendations to fill vacancies on the City Council.
The GOP has tapped Brooks Hawley and James Russell to fill the at-large council seats being vacated by Frank Ferrando and Marianne Clattenburg.
The GOP met last night to select their recommendations.
Brooks Hawley is the son of State Assemblyman Steve Hawley.
Russell is a former city council member.
It is up to the council to approve the recommendations.
The city charter provides that appointments to vacancies must be members of the same party as the council person leaving the seat.
