The victim of a horrifying September 30th crash on Route 19 in LeRoy has died at Strong Memorial Hospital.

55-year-old Patty Ireland of Bergen was critically injured on the last day of September when she came upon the I-90/I-490 interchange in LeRoy, simply at the wrong time. Ireland's car was southbound when a tractor-trailer hauling gravel dust tipped down the I-90 overpass, sliding across the road and slamming into Ireland's vehicle.

She had been hospitalized ever since with traumatic brain injuries. Friends of the family tell WBTA News that Ireland was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital Thursday night, and was later pronounced dead.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Department confirmed the death to WBTA News this morning.

Patty Ireland leaves behind three children.

Such tragic and sad circumstances. Prayers for the Ireland family during this time of sorrow.
