A brutal Sunday night murder in Orleans County might have been prevented – if the accused murderer had never gotten out of jail.
Orleans County District Attorney Joe Cardone confirmed today that 24-year-old Luis Rodriguez-Flamenco was arrested about two months ago in the Village of Medina, on Assault charges. Rodriguez-Flamenco was jailed then in lieu of $25,000 dollars bail.
But at his bail hearing, a public defender argued that the bail count should be lowered, because the charges against Rodriguez-Flamenco were only misdemeanors. Reportedly, bail was then lowered to $2,000 – and Rodriguez-Flamenco walked free.
Now, he’s back in jail, with no bail, accused of stabbing a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot, just to steal her car.
District Attorney Cardone will request an indictment on murder charges for Luis Rodriguez-Flamenco, from the Orleans County Grand Jury.
