The National Weather Service is forecasting westerly winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 60.
The high winds could bring down power lines and tree limbs.
The weather service notes that there are still leaves on most trees and that increases the potential for damage.
Charges have been placed against a Batavia man for allegedly stealing credit cards from a woman he knew and running up unauthorized charges.
28-year-old Joshua Bachorski of Spruce St. is charged with three counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
Deputies say the credit card belonged to a Pembroke woman.
Bachorski allegedly used the credit cards to buy gift certificates at a Batavia discount store.
Bachorski is also accused of taking the woman’s washer and dryer and selling the appliances. Bachorski is jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Don't look for Governor Andrew Cuomo and his live-in girlfriend Sandra Lee to get married anytime soon.

The Buffalo Sabres are being extra cautious with one of their players as he attempts to come back from a concussion. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff says winger Jochen Hecht will not return to the lineup for tonight's home opener against Carolina or Saturday's trip to Pittsburgh. Hecht continues to try and come back from a concussion he suffered on the second day of training camp.
WBTA will again this year broadcast nearly all Buffalo Sabre's games. The station's coverage begins on this Tuesday night when the Sabres travel to Montreal.
