A Livonia woman died over the weekend in a motorcycle crash in Steuben County.
56-year-old Sharon Decker was riding with a group of 10 other motorcyclists in the Town of Cameron.
Authorities say Decker failed to negotiate a curve and was thrown from her motorcycle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A weekend raid on a Bank Street apartment nets local lawmen a trio of suspects and takes some drugs off the streets
Members of the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force moved in on an apartment at 335 Bank Street Saturday evening.
Hauled off to the county jail with out bail were:
29-year-old Julia Wescott of Batavia, 22-year-old Thomas Hill of Rochester and 18-year-old Jade Cierra Wims of Rochester.
All of facing various drug charges.
Police confiscated $1,500 worth of crack and $750 in cash.
A Batavia man is facing felony charges following a traffic stop on Cedar Street over the weekend.
32-year-old John Hackett of West Main Street Rd. is charged with a felony count of Drunk Driving and a felony count of driving without a license. Hackett was arraigned in city court and then released on his own recognizance.
Today is Columbus Day so that means many offices will be closed today.
All federal, state and local government offices are observing the holiday today. The Post Office and banks will also be closed.
The Holiday has moved the Batavia City Council meeting to tomorrow night.
Council will try again to approve the sale of 19 acres of land to the Town of Batavia.
The Town has offered $150,000 for the parcel located next to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office on Park Road.
The Town hopes to someday build a joint courts facility with the Towns of Elba and Oakfield.
