The mother of a 17-month-old child that fell from a second-story window last week, has been charged with 3 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 23-year-old Jessica Lyke of 18 East Avenue in Batavia "appeared at Headquarters today and was processed," according to a news release from the police department.
According to police detective Todd Crossett, Lyke was not in the room last Monday evening when her toddler managed to fall out of a second-story window in her home. The child tumbled onto a paved driveway directly below the window.
Lyke found her child crying outside a short time later and phoned 911.
The toddler was hospitalized in Rochester with only minor injuries, and later released.
