Interested in our new Regional Economic Development team?
The Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council, which includes Genesee County, will hold a public meeting at GCC next week to get your input on the economic needs of our area.
The Finger Lakes Council is part of a statewide initiative pioneered by Governor Andrew Cuomo, and led by Lieutenant Governor Bob Duffy. They are designed to streamline local industrial development efforts and draw business to the various regions of New York.
There are 9 counties included in the Finger Lakes REDC. Some big names are on the list: University of Rochester President Joel Seligman, and Wegman’s Grocery CEO Danny Wegman are included.
Finger Lakes REDC Director Bob McNary says it’s unclear at this point which Council members will take part in the GCC meeting. He expects that local government advisory members, such as County Legislative Chair Mary Pat Hancock, will run the event. But he says the most important attendees are the public.
All are invited to attend. The meeting is Monday, August 29th in the GCC Conable Technology Building, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. You must register to attend, by calling (585) 399-7075.
