Two high school students came to the rescue of 17 year old Kourtney McCorry of Spencerport
Friday after the teenage girl had hit her head on a rock after falling several feet from a cliff at Indian Falls.
Kourtney McCorry was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight and was conscious
and alert after being pulled from the water falls by the rescue unit of the Pembroke
Indian Falls Fire Department. Sheriff’s Deputies say McCory was with a group of friends swimming at the waterfalls. She was being helped up the rocks by her boyfriend while holding onto a tree branch. The branch broke causing McCorry to fall backwards.
Friday night’s Rascal Flatts concert at Darien Lakes was another busy night for Genesee
County Sheriff’s deputies, 4 arrests were made for penal code violations, and 78 persons
were charged with under age drinking. One of the 78 is from Batavia, 16 year old Derek
Machala of West Main Street Road. Two more from nearby Caledonia in Livingston County,
17 year old Catherine Cottone of River Road in Caledonia and 19 year old Robert Lysko of
Middle Road in Caledonia. The person to come the farthest to get arrested was from
Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Three of the penal code arrests were for trespassing and the other for Public Lewdness.
One person was injured in a one car accident on the Sand Hill Road in the Town of Alabama
early Saturday morning. 17 year old Timothy Ryan was taken to UMMC for complaint of pain.
Genesee County Sherriff’s deputies say Ryan was a passenger in a car driven by 17 year
old Austin Heineman of the Marble Road in Akron. Heineman’s car was traveling south on
Sandhill Road went it went of the shoulder and eventually overturned. Heineman has been
charged with misdemeanor DWI among other charges.
Wyoming County Sherriff’s Deputies have made arrests inconnection with the disappearance of some fire equipment from the Perry Center Fire Department. 33 year old Richard Stone of Water Street in Perry and 25 year old Richard Fraser of Elisabeth Street in Dansville have both been charged with Petit
Larceny.
An Akron man has been charged with possession of drugs following the investigation into an
overdose. 27 year old Jonathan Eldred of Main Road in Akron has been charged with
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and with Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic
Instrument.
