A mother and her two children sustained serious injuries in a one-car rollover this afternoon in Darien.

The accident occurred at about 4:20pm, on Broadway Road in the Town of Darien. State Police investigators say Jelissa Jones, age and residency unlisted, was driving with her 5-year-old and a 3-month-old infant, when for unknown reason her vehicle left the roadway. It rolled several times, and ejected her 5-year-old child.

Both children were Mercy Flighted into Buffalo's Women & Children's Hospital. Jelissa Jones was taken by ambulance to ECMC.

According to State Police, Jones and her infant sustained non-life threatening injuries. The 5-year-old's welfare and the nature of the child's injuries were not released. State Police said only that the child continues to be treated at Women's & Children's Hospital.

The investigation into the accident continues. Charges against Jelissa Jones are pending.
