Orleans County farmers are tallying their losses following this week’s hail storm that heavily damaged their fruit and vegetable crop.

Farm Service will submit estimates to the Fed over the next several weeks, in order to secure some emergency aid loans.

A Town of Darien man who crashed his car early Saturday, sending his friend to the hospital, is now facing criminal charges.
21-year-old Wyatt Becker is charged with Felony Vehicular Assault, Drunk Driving and Speeding.
Becker’s passenger, 20-year-old Luke Tarnacki of Alden, became pinned inside the vehicle when it struck a stand of trees.
Becker was air-lifted to Erie County Medical Center.
He remains in intensive care in critical condition.

At least 40 people were slightly injured yesterday evening when their tour bus overturned on Interstate 81 near Cortland.
Local officials say one passenger was pinned under the coach for over an hour but did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
