The director of the City of Batavia Youth Bureau is resigning after 23 years of service. Patricia Dieck’s last day is March 3rd. She will move on into a new job.
City Manager Jason Molino is now taking this opportunity to take a second look at the Youth Bureau’s programming. Molino has noted that the bureau consists of only 2 full-time employees, and only four employees overall. What’s more, state aid for youth bureaus has seen a 30-percent drop just over the past two years.
While the city performs its review, long-time coordinator Toni Funke will serve as acting Director of the Youth Bureau.
