A LeRoy man, who suffered serious burns in a fire earlier this morning, has now been charged with starting the blaze.
42-year-old Paul Atkinson has been charged with second degree arson.
Police say Atkinson admitted he set the house on fire, dousing his bedroom with gasoline and igniting it.
The house, on Orchard Drive in LeRoy, was owned by Paul’s father, Thomas Atkinson.
Paul Atkinson was released from the hospital yesterday and then sent to the Genesee County Jail.
A LeRoy man is facing felony charges for allegedly whacking another man in the back of the head with a crowbar.
44-year-old Dennis Holcomb of West Bergen Road, LeRoy has been locked up in Genesee County jail without bail.
Police said Holcomb and his victim were arguing...police didn’t say what the two were arguing about.
A Batavia man is locked up for allegedly choking and hitting a woman during a domestic dispute.
20-year-old Christopher Say of Maple Street allegedly attacked the woman in front of her children.
26-year-old Kristen Cianfrini of Tracy Avenue has been charged with Petit Larceny. Genesee County Sheriff's Deputies said Cianfrini allegedly took baby items from Walmart without paying for them.

The Board of Education announced officially that it has accepted the resignation of Scott Martzloff, who leaves next month to begin work as the Williamsville District superintendent.
The Board has appointed Loren Penman as Interim Superintendent. Penman was the district’s director of learning until her retirement 3 years ago.

A driver connected to a trooper's death won't be facing charges. Erie County officials are citing Charles Ricotta with a moving violation for the crash where he struck and killed trooper Kevin Dobson. Dobson had been conducting a routine traffic stop along 290 when the accident occurred in March. Investigators say Ricotta was blinded by the sun when he hit Dobson.
