State Police have released the name of the victim in the late-morning crash in Oakfield. He is 82-year-old Gerhard Zeyfang of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His vehicle above is a 2000 Toyota Echo.
The other couple involved were earlier confirmed, however the age of the driver has been released: Michael Zakes, 69-years-old, was driving the 2010 Chrysler van involved in the crash. He suffered only bruises and abrasions. His wife Diane was treated at UMMC for a fractured wrist.
State Police, Genesee County Sheriff's Deputies, Mercy EMS, and the Town of Batavia and Town of Oakfield fire departments all assisted at the scene.

An elderly Canadian man has died today in a violent head-on crash in the Town of Oakfield.
State Police report that at about a quarter to noon today, a gentleman over 80 years old, who remains unidentified, crossed the center line on Route 63, just East of the intersection with Townline Road.
An oncoming vehicle, containing couple Michael and Diane Zakes of Williamsville, tried to get out of the way. They were able to deflect their own vehicle off the road.
The front end of the elderly man’s vehicle was completely crushed. He was extricated and pronounced dead at the scene.
At last report, traffic was still being diverted in the area of the accident as crews continue to clean up a debris field that spans the entire roadway.
