Representatives for Batavia Downs are headed for Schenectady.
The group that oversees casino operations at Batavia Downs met in a closed-door session this morning to discuss their options after receiving letter from the State Lottery that threatened to revoke the Downs slot machines. It had been rumored that the board was mulling over a possible lawsuit. But Downs attorney Jim McCarthy says no such litigation was discussed or agreed upon.
Batavia Downs board members have now decided to send a four-person group to New York State Lottery headquarters in Schenectady. McCarthy says they'll work together with Lottery officials to overcome all code violations.
Batavia Downs has said that they are committed to righting all wrongs and coming to an agreement with the Lottery.
