A Holley man is charged with Felony DWI after an accident in Bergen that sent a car slamming into a house.
52-year-old Christopher Sherman is also charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and Following Too Closely. Sherman was apparently eastbound on Route 262 last night when another car backed out of a driveway ahead of him.
Sherman was unable to stop and rammed the other car, driven by 40-year-old Mark Puma of Bergen.
Puma’s car shot across an adjacent yard, knocked over a mailbox and hit a front porch. Puma and his passenger, 29-year-old Carlos Chavez, were later taken by ambulance to UMMC with minor injuries.
Sherman allegedly drove away after the crash. Deputies caught up with him a short while later and allegedly found him intoxicated.
He was arraigned, and is due back in court May 16th.
