A man from Byron is facing felony and misdemeanor drug charges in four Genesee County Communities for allegedly writing phony prescriptions for narcotics.
Sege Kalmbacher Sr. of Byron-Holley Road has been charged with over 100 counts of forgery, drug possession and computer trespass.
Members of the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force say that Kalmbacher has been using forged prescriptions since last December and that he has been able to successfully receive several narcotic drugs.
He’s in the Genesee County Jail today, without bail.
Charges have been filed against the driver of a car in which a GCC student was killed earlier this year.
21-year-old LeVert Kimble has been charged with Reckless Driving in connection with a two vehicle crash on West Main Street Road in the Town of Batavia on February 8th.
Killed in the crash was a passenger in Kimble’s car, 19-year-old Delores Opoku-Boateng.
Kimble was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and issued an appearance ticket for further court action.
The City of Batavia would more than double its revenue from the Falleti Ice Arena under the terms of a new lease agreement.
The proposed lease is with Firland Management, the private company that runs the city owned rink. The city has been making about $7,000 a year on the deal. That amount will more than double under the new lease.
City Council is expected to approve the new lease at its next business meeting.
Voters in the Batavia City School District go to the polls today.
There is one item on the ballot - a yes or no vote on a proposed 3.9-million capital improvement project.
That project will result in improvements to VanDetta Stadium including an artificial field.
