Batavia teen identified in violent assault.
16 year old Lionel Anderson Junior of Oak Street was identified by Batavia Police as the suspect in an alleged violent assault in the city.
Police said Anderson is accused of slamming a 13 year old into the ground face first, then striking them in the head with a metal belt buckle causing injury.
The charges stem from a fight on Highland Park in Batavia last week.
Anderson is facing a felony count of assault and was committed to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Rollover crash in Alexander leads to charges for Darien resident.
According to reports 22 year old Devon Lennon of Church Road in Darien was traveling eastbound approaching a curve on Bowen Road in Alexander just before noon yesterday when he became distracted.
Lennon reportedly lowered his head to light a cigarette causing him to leave the roadway, strike a mailbox then roll the vehicle several times before the vehicle came to rest on its roof.
Lennon was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs along with driving left of pavement markings in a no passing zone.
He was released and is expected in Alexander Town Court on January 2nd.

John Kennedy School has a newly named Principle.
Amanda Cook of Bergen will be stepping into the principle position at the intermediate school over the holidays.
The Batavia City School District’s Board of Education confirmed the decision yesterday.
Cook has been the assistant principal at Byron-Bergen Elementary School for five years and before that was a special education teacher at Pavilion for six years.
Cook will be replacing longtime principle Paul Kesler who will be moving to the Batavia High School.

Genesee County promotes a prosecutor to recently re-established positon.
Assistant D-A Melissa Cianfrini will take the re-established position of First Assistant District Attorney effective January 1st.
District Attorney Lawrence Freidman made the announcement cementing Cianfrini as the number two prosecutor in the county.
The promotion comes with a modest pay raise.

Snowfall estimates are adjusted downward
The National Weather Service has downgraded their original snowfall estimates for tonight and tomorrow.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from this afternoon through early tomorrow morning.
Total lake effect snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are now expected south of a line from Buffalo to Batavia
