The special election to fill the 26th Congressional District seat will be held on May 24th.
Governor Andrew Cuomo today set the date to fill the seat left vacant with the sudden resignation of Chris Lee.
So far, only the Republicans have named a candidate for the post: Assemblywoman Jane Corwin of Clarence.
While setting the May 24th date for the special election, Cuomo also signed a bill giving county election boards adequate time to mail military ballots to servicemen and women overseas.
