The Batavia City Council, by a narrow 5 to 4 vote, turns down a pay raise for City Manager Jason Molino.
A 2.75 percent raise would have brought Molino’s annual salary to 96-thousand 300-dollars a year.
The discussion over the pay raise was at times confusing, even to council members, and politically charged.
Three councilman face re-election next month.
Voting against Molino’s pay raise were councilmen:
Kathleen Briggs, Al McGinnis, Paul Viele, Bob Bialkowski and Rosemary Christian.
Council members Adam Tabelski, John Canale, Gene Jankowski and Patti Pacino supported it.

A Perry woman pleads guilty to abandoning a disabled person who was injured when the car she was driving crashed into a tree.
31 year old Nicole Sullivan was arrested in June of last year following the crash on Fargo Road in Stafford.
Police charged Sullivan with leaving her disabled passenger in the car when she left the scene.
Sullivan has yet to be sentenced. She could get up to four years.

Orleans County deputies are identifying the man killed in a one-car crash in Murray. 
Deputies say William Weidinger of Murray was driving the vehicle that ran off Fancher Road and hit a culvert pipe this past weekend.  The cause of the crash hasn't been released, but authorities are still investigating.

A Rochester man is behind bars after deputies discovered the shocking number of times his license has been suspended. 
Livingston County deputies said yesterday that 68-year-old Eugene Smith ran over a stop sign with a dump truck in Lima then left the scene. 
He was arrested for driving on a license that had been suspended 47 times. 
Smith is facing felony charges and as of last night hadn't posted bail.

Batavia Police Officers discovered an unusual marijuana growing operation while responding to a report of trash burning on Ross Street.
A resident complained that their neighbor was burning garbage.
While officers were citing the resident for the code violation, they noticed a pot plant growing on the roof.
26 year old Jacob Camerera was issued a court appearance ticket.
