Western New York received lots of snow on Friday, but no records were set in either Buffalo or Rochester. Buffalo recorded 8 inches of snow, short of the record of 8.4 inches set in 1960. Rochester received 7 and a half inches and that was two full inches less than the record 9.5 inches in 1916.
Rochester still leads the snow derby 109.5 inches to Buffalo’s 92.4 inches, 17.1 inches ahead. Conditions on the main roads are back to normal this morning.  Caution is advised on the secondary roads, which may be snow covered.  Snow is expected for today, but little or no accumulation.

A 14 month old bqby girl has been killed in a fire in Mt. Morris.  It happened at a home at 11 Lake Avenue.  The girl was taken to a Dansville Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.  The fire is still under investigation, but officials say it appears to be accidental.

A traffic stop on route 77 in Pembroke led to a drug arrest late last night. 33-year-old Stephanie Macchia of Munzel Road in Medina was stopped for a traffic violation.  She was later  found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana.,  Macchia was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and given an appearance ticket.

The developer of the new World Trade Center is exercising an option that requires New York City to rent space in the second tower that's being built at the site.  Under the deal struck in 2006, the city will pay up to 56-dollars and 50-cents a square foot for 582-thousand square feet of space in Tower 4 which is expected to open in late 2013.
