Press Release:

In October 2015, Wyoming County Community Health System (WCCHS) received approval from the New York State Department of Transportation for $37,527 in grant funding under the Federal Transit Administration's Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program for the purchase of a vehicle with wheel chair and occupant restraint system.  The vehicle is essential to transport health system patients and residents to medical appointments and community outings.  The bus will improve accessibility and mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities where public transit services are unavailable, insufficient or inappropriate.

On July 25, 2017, the long awaited bus was delivered to WCCHS.  The bus has a seating capacity for four passengers and three wheelchairs.  Skilled Nursing Facility residents and Adult Day Health Care registrants are extremely excited to have the new bus in time to go to the Wyoming County Fair.  The bus is also used to transport residents to other special activities such as visits to local parks, scenic tours of the countryside, observing the Warsaw July 4th parade or other local parades, trips to Yummies Ice Cream, and taking rides to see holiday lights.  The new bus allows WCCHS to provide the best quality of life for our residents and give them the opportunity to connect with the community.
