A jailbird from Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Malone, NY, just north of the Adirondacks, is charged with a burglary in Bergen.
44-year-old Stephen Farrell is already serving a prison term at Bare Hill after being convicted of Grand Larceny in an incident in LeRoy.
Sheriff’s Investigator William Ferrando says Farrell’s name came up again several months ago, for a break-in at a business in Bergen that happened last February. There was blood left at the Bergen break-in, from which Investigator Ferrando harvested DNA. Other evidence led him to Farrell, and a subsequent DNA test of Farrell’s saliva matched up perfectly.
Stephen Farrell was brought to Genesee County today for arraignment on Burglary and Criminal Mischief charges. Bail was set at $10,000.
