With all the talk about The Muckdogs being sold, and the talks with Rochester Red Wings. Did anyone take notice that the team is still owned by the Genesee County Baseball club? Yes the team is locally owned, Rochester stepped up before the 2008 season and helped bail us out, for which we are forever grateful. They have done a great job in running the front office and daily management. Unfortunately the team would not be in this position if the community had been aware that when the Muckdogs leave, professional baseball will be gone forever in Batavia.
Batavia was a main player and was the home of the original formation of the Pony league in1938. The former hotel Rickmond was where the papers were signed to start the league, When Batavia leaves it will be following the rest of the original team into oblivion.

fyi I am a long time season ticket holder of Batavia baseball and a current member of the GCBC board
home phone 343-1903
work 344 -5462
