They are protection. A knife is a weapon as is a gun. They will kill you. In very rare circumstances a stun gun could, in fact, kill someone with a bad heart. If stun guns are considered weapons, then our law inforcement should only carry stun guns. A hat pin ( if they even make them anymore ) could be considered a weapon should law enforcement deem so.
