Author Rachel Simon will speak with a book signing, prior to the Sprout Film Festival, Saturday, March 22, at Genesee Community College, The Best Center, Batavia Campus begining at 1pm.  Rachel Simon is an award winning author and nationally recognized public speaker on issues related to diversity and disability. The 4th annual  Sprout Film Festival will follow at 3pm with short works produced by people with developmental and physical challenges. There will also be an art show. Principles of Gardening

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County will offer, "Principles of Gardening" training, Wednesday evenings starting September 10 through November 19, from 6pm to 9pm. This training is the first requirement to becoming a Genesee County Master Gardener. Class size is limited; registration required by Friday, August 22. UMMC ASK A Nurse

United Memorial Hospital will offer, "Ask a Nurse" community outreach program the First Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11am, in the Jerome Center Lobby, 16 Bank Street, Batavia; and on the Third Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11am, in the main lobby of the hospital at 127 North Street, Batavia. A registered nurse will be present to answer questions, check blood pressure, review medications, and provide diabetes risk assessments. The program is free and open to the public on a walk in basis. 
 

Holland Land Office Museum

The Holland Land Office Museum is seeking individuals who were residents of the Children's home in Batavia, to come to the museum and record their remembrances. Also if anyone has any pictures of the Children's home that they could make copies of, please contract Director Jeff Donahue at 585-343-4727.

Volunteer to Deliver Home Meals

The Office for the Aging is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver Home delivered meals in Batavia. You can volunteer daily or as little as once a month. Each delivery takes approximately one to one and half hours. Easy pick up accessibility and assistance with loading at the Genesee ARC Community Center, Woodrow Road, Batavia.
